No Need To Panic - Billy Davies

We may only be 3 games into the season, but it seems that some people are pressing the panic button already. Forest travel to QPR tomorrow and ahead of the game, Reds' boss Billy Davies has called for cool heads, as the lads go in search of their first win of the season.

Forest have drawn 1 and lost 2 of their first 3 games. Davies told the official site. 'I've been here before, at the start of seasons both at Preston and Derby where we didn't get off to flying starts and weren't sitting in the top six after seven or eight games. There was doom and gloom all over the place but it was a different situation come the end of the season.'

The early signs from the first 2 games with Reading and West Brom, gave reason for hope this campaign, but the 4-2 defeat against Watford on Tuesday hammered home the point that there's still work to do in strengthening the squad. Davies is still on the lookout for at least one more defender, before the transfer window closes a week on Monday.

It is too early to panic and Davies is right in calling for calm. If his previous record in the Championship is anything to go by, then he has every reason to feel confident about the season ahead. If he could just sign a couple of defenders, then the fans will have too.

Quite right, I think he also stated that it is a marathon not a sprint!

I think it's not on how some Forest fans jump on Billy Davies back, it seems like a small percentage of fans will just never be satisfied. I must admit I was gutted after the 2 - 4 defeat against Watford but what I saw in our previous 3 games of the season gives me faith that we can accomplish things this season. If you ask me Billy is a fantastic manager who looks at every detail of the game, I mean could you have imagined attracting the players we did in the summer afew years ago ?? and what was one of their main reasons to come to Forest ?? Billy Davies !. He may talk about the same things alot but it's because they are facts and untill his time is done at Forest I think we should all get behind him 100 % and give him time to take us to where he wants us, after all he achieved his first target when most managers coming into Forest wouldn't have had a cat in hells chance of keeping us up last year ! So come on Forest fans ! let's get behind the lads and the manager this season and keep up the faith !! one last point if the story about Billy asking for a 10 year contract is true is show's to me that his heart is in Forest, yeah it would be alot of money but would you commit yourself to a job u didn't like for 10 years for alittle more money ?? I'm not saying he will get his contract wish but it's shows he is commited. YOU REDS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
