Forest v The Iron: Preview

Forest defender Wes Morgan may have his detractors, myself being one, but tonight's game against Scunthorpe, will see him make his 250th appearance for the Reds'. That's some achievement for a player who's still only 25 and his best years ahead of him. So well done to Wes, let's celebrate with 3 points.

Winning against Scunny, is easier said than done for Forest, with the Iron proving to be something of a bogey side in recent years. In 4 League meetings, we've yet to win, having lost 3 and drawn 1. Tonight, could well turn out to be an evening of milestones. Not only is it Wes's 250th game, it will be Nathan Tyson's 100th game. If we can cap that off with a win, it will indeed be a night to remember.

Scunthorpe got their season off to a dodgy start, but have improved in recent weeks. They drew 2-2 with Donny at the weekend and sit 3 places above us on 11 points. A win for the Reds', will take us above them and up to 14th.

There's good news on the injury front for Forest, in that Earnie has recovered from a pelvic injury that forced out of the away win at Plymouth. Kelvin Wilson, who was a doubt earlier in the week has recovered from cramp and Dele Adebola is said to be fit, after reporting an ankle injury in the Plymouth game.

Scunthorpe have concerns over striker Gary Hooper and defender David Mirfin. Both picked up injuries with the draw against Rovers.

Last season, Scunny won 4-0 at the City Ground and it ended 1-1 at Glanford Park. If Forest can keep midfielder Grant McCann quiet this evening, we should do better than last season's results. He's scored 4 in his last 4 games for the Iron, so he's definitely one to watch. Despite our recent form against them, I'm going for a narrow 2-1 win to the Reds'.
