Lee Naylor Heads Billy's Most Wanted List

Billy Davies has drawn up his list of January transfer targets and had them approved by the Acquisitions Panel at the City Ground. CEO Mark Arthur will now have to negotiate the deals, that will complete the rebuilding of the squad for this season.

Celtic left back Lee Naylor, heads the list of targets. It's believed he will be one of 4 major signings that Forest hope to complete in the January transfer window. Naylor is 29 and has made over 300 appearances for the Bhoys, since joining from Wolves in 2006. Celtic paid £600,000 to Wolves for him and he's been an everpresent with the SPL side, in his 3 years with the club . His contract is up at the end of this season.

The other names on the list will become clearer in the next week or so, but Shorey at Villa, Whitbread at Millwall and Garvan at Ipswich are all being touted as possibles. Whitbread will have to prove his fitness before the Reds' make a firm move, as he has been out all season through injury. A move for Garvan, will only be considered if Billy Davies loses one of his midfielders. There are rumours of interest in Lewis McGugan, but Davies would prefer to add to his existing squad, rather than sell. Nicky Shorey at Aston Villa has been the subject of transfer speculation and even a move to the City Ground in the past week or so. Although he's made 6 appearances for Villa this season, he's way down the pecking order at Villa Park. He wouldn't come cheap, but he would be of the quality needed, if the Reds' are to make a serious challenge this season.
