Davies' Half Time Blast Has Desired Effect
Nottingham Forest earned a credible 1-1 draw at Middlesbrough yesterday, to stretch their unbeaten run to 9 games. Reds' boss Billy Davies though, had to throw the tea cups at the dressing room wall at half time, in an effort to get a reaction from his players.
Davies told the BBC. 'I think the first half was as poor as we've been this season. We were their best player at times because we kept giving them the ball too easily and that's why I was so angry. But after one or two choice words at half-time we came out and showed what we are all about. I'm pleased because of the reaction.'
It would appear the rollocking worked, because Forest came out for the second half, all guns blazing. Robbert Earnshaw fired home a great free kick to draw the sides level and they could have gone on to win the game. Forest will gladly take the draw, as it leaves us handily placed in 9th spot, just a point from the Playoffs.
