St. Martin Of The Villa Answers Reds' Prayers

Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill, has answered the prayers of Nottingham Forest, by agreeing to loan defender Nicky Shorey to us, in an effort to help sort our defensive problems.

The official site says the deal is an emergency loan and will last until the end of December.

Shorey has found it difficult to get into the Villa side, since they signed Stephen Warnock and will hopefully use his loan spell here to resurrect his career. There's no doubting his quality though and he'll be a more than welcome addition to the Forest ranks. Welcome to the City Ground Nicky Shorey.

Good luck to him (and you). He was actually playing his best football for Villa before we bought Warnock. Was very unlucky to lose his place, but Warnock is top drawer.

decent player i think, good especially going forward. Shame he never really seemed to get a run at Villa but as krfeskivilla says, we now have Warnock so Shorey has no chance unless injuries occur.

Another slice of the jigsaw falls into place. A great signing and at last Super Chris Cohen gets to fit into the midfield somewhere!
