Billy The Liar - I don't think we're ready...

The Billy Davies bandwagon continues to gather pace and is hurtling towards the top of the Championship table at breakneck speed. Forest are like a runaway train at the moment, with driver Billy Davies searching frantically for the brakes.

Following the 5-1 thumping of Leicester City and in the forlorn hope of putting the skids on supporters dreams for promotion, Davies told BBC Radio Nottingham. 'I'm absolutely delighted with the performance and with the three points. We played well but its only December. We'll keep reminding everyone of that. I don't think we're ready for promotion. I'll keep saying that but we're certainly a team with excellent potential and we're a team making great strides forward.'

He'll have a hard job convincing Forest supporters that the club isn't ready yet, because they are seeing with their own eyes, how the team is sweeping aside anyone who dares stand in their way. The demolition of the Foxes may have been the most emphatic of the season to date, but it's just one in a string of sterling results against the top teams in the division.

Billy can talk down our chances as much as he likes, but he's peeing in the wind if he thinks we actually believe him. Yes it's only December and yes it's still early days, but after 10 years of heartache watching the demise of the club, it sure as hell feels good to be talking so positively about us once more.

He's not lying at all, he's playing the media game the way it needs to be played, shrewd fella our King Bill.

the question is does Billy himself feel ready for promotion. I get the feeling he spent a lot of time researching the Championship while he was out of a job.

His research has definately paid off! I've a sneaky feeling he looked at the greedy league too!

He's right, it's December and his young charges need to keep their feet firmly on terra firma. If they get cocky it could well go bum up quite quickly.

We've got a tough run of fixtures coming up, winning 2 home games is what was needed, but away at Blades & Swans, could see us drop points & places. Billy is trying to manage expectations!

Hi Guys. Sorry I've been away for a while The last time I was on we were all still doom and glooming it. What a difference a few months make. I'm not gloating I know just as much as you guys how hard it was in the blunder years. I KNEW Billy Davies would drag us off our ass given time I just didnt think it would look this good so soon. When we DO get to the NFL? MLB? NHL? Premier League I would like to think we would compete not struggle. Are we ready for that? Time will tell. I fell out with Glasgow Rangers when they didnt give Billy a chance as a player I dont want the same to happen with my beloved Forest. SO do we take it this year and struggle? Or take the time to get it right? Whatever happens this season so far has pure dead brilliant. COME ON YOU REDS !!!! p.s. If I'm honest I want to go up this year that crap I wrote up there was my daft head talking. MY HEART SAYS WERE GOING UP!!!!! Cheers You .
