Bale To Villa = Shorey To Forest

Aston Villa are looking to recruit Spurs defender/midfielder Gareth Bale and if he decides to join them, it could prove beneficial to the Reds'.

Forest only managed to extend the loan spell of Villa's Nicky Shorey until the end of January, sparking fears that he will be returning to Villa Park. Martin O'Neill does not want to be without cover in the left back department, which is why the deal for Shorey is only for a month, with a 24 hour recall. If Bale decides to join the Villans, it will pave the way for Shorey to make his move to the City Ground permanent and all for the tidy sum of £1.4m.

Shorey has been a hit at the City Ground, since signing in November and is seen by many fans as an essential purchase, if we are going to make a serious push for promotion.

Bouma is back in training again though, so surely we have cover now. That and the fact Young can play there and Cueller can take his position at RB? We have two players who can play left back in addition to Warnock.

Well MO'N doesn't seem to like him at all, he did well when he played he was very good going forward but struggled defensivly and was a little small. I'm glad he is doing well a forest though.

Think you'll find a lot of Villa fans liked Shorey. He generally did a good job for us but now we have Warnock who is pushing for England and the returning Bouma, there really is just no room for him. As long as Bouma makes a good recovery then it's safe to assume that sooner or later Shorey is yours. It's a shame he's leaving in my opinion but he's a good player and should be playing football. He's definitely Premiership material so he'll do well for you guys. Hope he does and good luck to him.

Shorey is never a PL player. To many elements of his game comprimise results.
