Geordies Bid For Perch

Various sources are reporting that Newcastle United have made an undisclosed offer for Mr. Versatile himself, James Perch.

The fee is undisclosed and at present it's unconfirmed by the club, but sources in the North East, as well as Sky Sports News are reporting it.

Perch is a product of the NFFC Youth Academy and is the second longest serving player in the current squad, after Wes Morgan. He made his debut for the Reds' in 2004 and has been a virtual ever present since. Although he's been hampered by a foot injury since the close season, he is back to full fitness now.

Regarded as a utility player, he states his preferred position as a right back, but has been predominantly played in midfield for the past two seasons. The likelihood of him leaving for the Barcodes seems remote, especially with our current squad size. That said, every player has his price and depending what the undisclosed offer is, the club might be tempted to let him go.

Perch only signed a new contract last January...so, it would take a sizeable offer!
