'Derisory' - Magpies Offer For Perch

Nottingham Forest have been quick off the mark in silencing any talk of player departures.

News surfaced yesterday, about a bid for defender James Perch from Championship rivals Newcastle United, but Reds' boss Billy Davies has dismissed their offer.

A bemused Davies told the official site. 'We must be doing something right if other teams in our division want out players. But we are looking to build a squad at The City Ground rather than dismantle one and James is not leaving.'

Davies then took a swipe at the Geordies, saying their offer was well below what Forest valued the player at. 'Newcastle's offer for someone we value so highly as a player and an individual was derisory and I'm disappointed it made it into the public domain. That's not our way of doing business.' You tell 'em Billy!

I wonder what the offer was, 500K, to £1m is seriously undervalueing this player. Just 'cos we get 'em in cheap, doesn't mean we'll sell 'em for next to nowt!
