The Men In Black: Newcastle United v Forest

Premiership referee Mr. Alan Wiley from sunny Staffordshire gets the gig for the top of the table Championship clash, between the Geordies of Newcastle and Nottingham Forest on Monday night.

Mr. Wiley is considered one of the more reliable referees in the modern game and will hopefully perform better than others we've had the misfortune of meeting so far this season (Mr. Clattenberg to name but one). He's managed to get under the noses of Sir Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez during his career, so he can't be all bad.

You have to go back to the 3-0 away defeat at Chelsea in the FAC 2007, to find the last time he took charge of a game involving the Reds'. That day he booked Sammy Clingan and Jack Lester, but decided to let Julian Bennett's attempt to snap Shaun Wright-Phillips in two go unpunished.

So far this season Mr. Wiley has taken charge of 31 games and he's dished out 104 yellow cards and 5 red.

He will be ably assisted on the lines by Mr. R. Madely and Mr. J. Simpson. The 4th official will be Mr. J. Moss.
