Forest Plotting Playoff Success

Forest secured their slot in the end of season Playoffs on Saturday, with a 3-0 win over Ipswich at the City Ground. Assistant manager Ned Kelly says the club is now preparing for what it hopes will be a winning day out at Wembley, on Saturday May 22 and that there is no better man to get the job done, than his sidekick Billy Davies.

Kelly paid tribute to Davies by reminding us where we were a year ago, when we were fighting to stay in the Championship amidst a relegation battle. He told the Nottingham Evening Post. 'We are absolutely delighted to have got into the play-offs, given that we were fighting relegation last season. Now we have to look to see what is best for the three games, or the three games we hope to play, presuming we can get to the final; get to Wembley. We will look at things in the next few days and plan what is best for everyone over the remaining matches before then.'

This will be the 3rd time that Forest have reached the Playoffs, with the previous two occasions ending in heartbreak for the fans. Sheffield United and Yeovil ended our promotion hopes at the semi final stage in the past, so it will hopefully be 3rd time lucky this year. As things stand at the moment, Forest will play either Cardiff, Leicester or Swansea. A recent Vital Forest Poll, had 48% of fans voting for a meeting with Leicester City. The outcome of who we'll play wont be known for another three weeks or so and probably not until the final day of the season on May 2, when we travel to Scunthorpe.
