'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kelly's Eye Is On The Playoffs

According to Forest assistant manager Ned Kelly, preparations for the playoffs is already well underway. Players have been rested, tested and given the once over by Billy Davies and his backroom staff over the past few weeks, in readiness for the vital 2/3 games that will decide the clubs' fate.

Kelly told the official site after the 2-2 draw away at Scunthorpe. 'We were preparing for the play-offs today, we wanted to put different players in different positions and I think it worked very well.'

Forest made 8 changes to the team that beat Plymouth the previous week and gave starts to fringe players Joe Garner, George Boyd and Joel Lynch. Forest raced into a 2-0 lead, before being pegged back in the second half and had to settle for a draw.

Kelly assured fans that no stone will be left unturned as they prepare the players for the 1st leg game at Bloomfield Road on Saturday. 'Billy has the experience, the knowledge and the know-how tactically for the play-offs.' Davies certainly has the experience, having previously guided Preston and the Sheep through the playoffs.

I must admit drd, that I don't have that fear of dread that normally comes before the PO's. I was very twitchy before the Blunts and Yeovil games, but I'm strangely looking forward to this. Mind you....it's only Monday.

I'm the same guin, I'm really relaxed about it. I hope we tranfer the mood to the players. Before the Yeovil game as was as tight as a drum and the players looked just as nervous. Not this year though. Tell me mam me mam. We don't want no tea no tea, We're going to Wem-ber-ley, Tell me mam me mam.
