Forest Sign 2 With More On The Way

Unconfirmed reports are suggesting that Nottingham Forest have completed deals that will see Aston Villa defender Nicky Shorey and Swansea City midfielder Darren Pratley, join the club for the beginning of the 2010/11 campaign.

Nicky Shorey is expected to be unveiled as a permanent signing for a fee of around £850,000. Pratley is also expected to be another permanent signing at around £1.75m. Both players have been long term targets of the club and will be seen as essential appointments in what will be a serious push for promotion next term.

Pratley was an integral part of the Swans team that just missed out on the Playoffs last season and has been the number one target for Forest since failing to land him in January.

Shorey is of course no stranger to us and played a significant part in our rise up the table before Christmas and that unforgettable unbeaten run. The failure to clinch automatic promotion was partly blamed on the clubs' inability to secure his services after his loan spell ended in Jan. Following the conclusion of his loan from Villa, he went on to spend the remainder of the season at Fulham. The rest as they say is history.

Whilst the signing of Shorey solves the formerly problematic left back spot, the addition of Pratley in midfield will be an equally important one. Davies sees the 25 year old as the missing link in midfield and wants him as the playmaker in the team.

Both players will be viewed as key appointments for the club, but this will only be the start of a summer spend, that could see another 5 quality additions to the squad.

The BEST news gor ages if true.

Daylight robbery if it's only 850k. Especially if he was that valuable to your team last season....
Villan444
Great news if it's true. Would be really complemented if we can sign Whittingham as well.

Well i am new to this site, how true are these stories?
Sandiacre Red
In response to Sandiacre Red this site is often correct. I have also heard from other sources that these are done deals. Villan444, I've not really seen him play in a Villa shirt but he was definately valuable to us last year. He's not just a natural left-back which is what we need, he's a quality natural left-back. Well at that level at least. I just want it officially confirmed now so I can wind the Derby fans up!!!!

Thats not too bad....... fully agree he is a natural quality left back i know bennett is back but i think Shorey has a footballers head on his shoulders.

Do Vital every get anything right regards Forest???? My grandmother has a better predictions rate as guessing who is signing. I've often been left disappointed with all of Vitals predictions asi cant remember one that has come off.... so id like to go with the opposite and say that Shorey & Whittingham wont be signing... although i prey they do!
mikewood1977
shorey will be our best signining
