The Vital Forest Fan Interview: McWoany

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: McWoany

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?

In the late 1980`s. First game was against Oxford United 5-3 (I think) win. I went to a few games after that, although my Mum wasn`t happy about me going after Hillsborough. To be honest it wasn`t until seeing Des Walker, Stuart Pearce etc, in the world cup in 1990 that I really got into supporting Forest and started moaning at my family to take me to every game.

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.

Get the bad out the way - going to Ipswich and watching us lose 6-0. I knew we were going down after that it was just terrible. Or getting thrown out for yelling at Megson while we were losing to Swansea. (I didn`t swear especially it was more shouting I was glad my family were dead so they didn`t have to watch him take us down to the 4th division, to be fair to the bloke he did look like he was about to cry and then did resign not much long after.) Good 7-1 at Hillsborough, 7-0 against Chelsea. (also waving inflatable European Cups at the Chelsea fans in the FA Cup under CC) Winning 2-1 at Old Trafford and all the Mancs staring at us in silence, McGregor`s goal against Lyon or getting promoted against Yeovil.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?

GK. Crossley RB. LawsCB. Cooper CB. Walker LB. PearceRW. Stone. Bohinen CM. Bart Williams LW. Woan ST. Collymore ST. Van Hooijdonk. Pearce is easily my favourite player.

Q - In your opinion, what is the best goal you have seen Forest score?

Collymore against Wimbledon or Woan against Spurs.

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?

Selhurst Park, Millmoor, Victoria Ground are or were truly terrible, but I think the winner has to be Layer Road.

Q - What are your thoughts on the proposed new stadium?

If it means progress then I`m all for it. I would like some fan consultation and it to have unique features, I still don`t see why we can build it as a replica of the City Ground but with joined up corners and a larger main stand.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer(realistically)?

A left back...any left back...anything else is a bonus.

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?

Bad. Safe standing can easily be provided. I go to the football to cheer on Forest, have a laugh with my mates etc like almost everyone else so I don`t see why we cant stand up.

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?

Fantastic (wish I hadn`t gone to so many away games though) I expected us to finish 8th so was obviously delighted and some of the performances at the City Ground were just spectacular.

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship?

I`d just be happy with the play offs again. I don`t think everyone should get carried away and expect us to walk the league.

Q - What League position will Forest occupy at the end of the 2010/11 season?

3rd again I think.

Q - What's your opinion of Billy Davies and what he's done at NFFC, since his arrival?
It wasn`t that high to start with, gradually improved but is starting to fall again.

Q- Acquisitions Panel. Good thing or bad?
Good thing if it works properly.

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?

B Block or Trent End though next season I`m going to less away games and getting my self a season ticket in the upper Bridgford.

Q - Name the celebrity you would most like to bang.

I`ll be a married man in October (Saturday the 30th so pencil that in as the date we play Direby) So I won`t be answering this one.

Many thanks to McWoany for taking the time to answer the questions. If you would like to take part in the Fan Interviews, you can find a copy of the questions HERE. Just email the answers to forest@vitalfootball.co.uk.
