Perch And Calderwood Reunited

After weeks of speculation about his future, James Perch has finally signed for Premier League new boys Newcastle United.

The NFFC official site says we've actually been paid a fee for the 24 year old utility player/scapegoat, but there's no mention of the actual amount. Speculation about the move has been doing the rounds for weeks, with £1m being the popular figure quoted.

Perch was a local lad and made over 200 appearances for the Reds. He played in just about every position for the team, but never really made one his own. Depending on who you ask about his abilities, you'll get a different response. There will probably be as many fans jumping for joy at his departure, as there are those that are saddened. Good luck for the future Perchio and say hello to Colin.

Probably one of the players we don't mind losing during the Summer. We should be able to sign a decent replacement in the coming weeks anyway

This is great news! Billy wouldn't let him go unless he felt reasonably sure of top class signings to replace him. Perchy couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from ten paces. If the fee was a million, thanks CC - what a windfall.

I'd like to wish him well, if the disgaced England team had as much commitment as Perchinho, they'd still be in the competition. TBH He's had his up & downs and if we got a Mill & he got a payrise, then fair enough all round I say.
