Mansfield 1-2 Forest/Tranmere 2-0 Forest

Forest played simultaneous pre-season friendlies last night at Mansfield and Tranmere, with mixed fortunes.

The squad, with a mixture of youth and experience, was split between the travelling parties.

There were seven 1st team regulars in action at Field Mill and Forest were 2-0 up within the opening half an hour thanks to goals from Nathan Tyson and the returning Dele Adebola. The hosts pulled a goal back through Ryan Williams' penalty with 17 minutes to play but it was Forest that ran out 2-1 winners.

The remaining members of the 1st team squad were in action at Prenton Park. Despite testing Tranmere keeper Gunnar Nielsen on several times no one could break through and goals from Nick Wood, although its reported that Neil Byrne 'probably' headed the ball clear before it crossed the line, and Ian Thomas-Moore handed Tranmere a 2-0 win.
