Vuvuzelas Banned At The City Ground

The vuvuzela ban sweeping England, and Europe in general really, has been extended to The City Ground with these trumpets being banned by Forest.

Vuvuzelas first came to light, on a global scale, during the world cup in South Africa although the ban was soon imposed by German clubs throughout the Bundesliga, this has been extended across Europe with the majority of premier league clubs, and several football league ones as well, also imposing a ban on them.

Forest's ban, as explained by Alan Bexon in The Nottingham Post, is being done out of courtesy to others fans as these 'instruments' are being banned like any other: 'although it may be questionable to put them in the category of musical instruments we feel it is the best interest of all supporters.

'Seating is allocated and people can't choose to move away to another seat if the person in front of them has one.'

I had nothing against them during the world cup; in fact I thought that they added something to the event although I would agree that preventing them from coming into the English game is the right thing to do.

Vuvuzelas are part of the African culture, so allowing them at the world cup was certainly the right thing to do, they are not part of our, or most other European - or world - cultures so not bringing them in is right in my eyes.

Do you agree with the vuvuzela ban at The City Ground, and most other English ground?
