Wilson Goes 'On Strike' To Get Celtic Move?

The Daily Express, even though they call him Kelvin Davis and not Kelvin Wilson, 'claim' that the 'furious' Forest man has 'gone on strike' in order to get a move to Celtic?

Celtic's £1m offer for Wilson was rejected over the weekend and the 'claims' in The Express are that this has: 'prompted him to tell the Forest hierarchy that he wants out and has made himself unavailable for any of their pre-season games.'

Wilson is in the final year of his contract, having turned down an extension, and whilst is it 'said' he is continuing to train with Forest he is refusing to take part in pre-season friendlies, starting with the game against Lyon this week.

Forest fans will, quite rightly ('if' this is true of course) be furious with the 24-year-old as this mirrors, slightly, the behaviour of former striker Pierre van Hooijdonk in the late 90s when he too went on strike having not been granted his wish.

Again 'if' this is true this just goes to show how far from reality football has stretched itself that players are able to act in such a way, and basically 'get away' with it...

Celtic are 'expected' to sign Wilson in the end anyway and are 'said' to be increasing their offer to £1.5m imminently.

Taking into account that these paper reports 'might not' be entirely true, as the papers are not averse to bending the truth, what do you make of the latest 'reported' Kelvin Wilson developments?

It's high time the government stepped in to curb these wildly damaging and obviously invented newspaper stories. The writers hide behind their right to "protect" the name of their source and consequently can make up and print whatever they like without fear of being required to prove their claims. They will get their comeuppance though; advertising is migrating to the internet at an alarming rate so newspapers in general are headed the way of the dodo. Couldn't happen to a more deserving crowd.
