'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Billy Rules Out Simpson Swoop

Billy Davies has made it clear that he wants to see arrivals at The City Ground, although a 'reported target' Jay Simpson will not be one of them.

The Arsenal forward has been linked with Forest but Davies, talking to The Nottingham Post, has said that Simpson is not one of the names he is looking at as far as forwards go: 'I have recommended that we bring in strikers, yes. But he is not among them.'

He has admitted that he is becoming concerned by the lack of activity coming into the club, but knows all he can do is put forward his names and let those doing the deals work on them: 'as things stand, I have given a list of potential signings to the acquisitions committee and like anyone else, I am obviously very concerned.

'But I have said before that it is just my job to put the names forward and then wait, like everyone else, to see what can be done.'

So, Simpson is a name that can be crossed of the 'potential acquisition' list - who the others are, and if they will arrive, remains to be seen...

Are you disappointed to hear that Jay Simpson is not one of Billy Davies' transfer targets?
