Davies Insists There's No Board Rift

Billy Davies has moved to play down the suggestion that there is any 'rift' between him and the board.

There have been some 'rumours' that Davies could be considering his role due to frustrations at the way the transfers in, and mostly out, are being conducted although, as he told BBC Radio Nottingham, this is not the case.

He insists that he has no grievances at all: 'I have not complained, had a grievance or a discussion with any of the board or transfer acquisition committee.

'There are many things written about the manager - he's been disciplined, he's resigning or he's fallen out with the board. It doesn't exist.'

While Davies is still hopeful of making signings, and knows this is needed, he says that he isn't concerned by the lack of arrivals, so far - although knows that several are needed to achieve what is wanted from Forest this season: 'Judge us at the start of the season. There's a long time to go between now and then.

'I'm very hopeful that we can get people in, but I've got to tell you I'm very relaxed about what we've got.

'If we're going for automatic promotion, I would say that his club needs at least five players, and I'm talking 'stellar' signings here.

'Play-offs are a must for the club this year, and to achieve that we need between three and five 'stellar' signings to push ourselves forward.'
