Hammer Time For Smith?

Eagle eyed Forest fans tuned into Sky Sports News yesterday, could hardly believe what they were seeing when a chap bearing a remarkable resemblence to Forest keeper Paul Smith was spotted in the background going through his training routine. The news item was an innocuous piece on West Ham Utd. Rumours began, 2+2 were put together and before you knew it, he was a Hammer.

Well that's almost true, because as the Daily Mail reports today, he is infact on trial at the London club.

Smith was transfer listed at the beginning of this month and told by manager Billy Davies that he had no future at the club. The former Forest number 1 is now available for sale and is clearly keen to tie up a deal. He made over 140 appearances for the Reds' and was an everpresent in the promotion winning team from League 1.

He was a good 'keeper when we were trying to get out of league 1. It looks like he'll certainly be on his way, but I wish him all the best wherever he goes
