Kelly Praises Bedridden Davies For Win Over Boro

Bedridden Forest boss Billy Davies was missing from action again last night, thanks to a particularly nasty bout of Viral Bronchitis. But, according to his assistant Ned Kelly, despite being laid up in his sick bed, it was thanks to the wily Scot that the Reds' went onto win the game at home to Middlesbrough 1-0.

Kelly told the official site. 'The gaffer had mentioned on Sunday about the fact they don't send two players out for set-plays and stuff. So we looked at it and thought we could have a little bit of fun in the wide area. Billy is a wily old goat - he's very good at set-plays and organisation. He has watched three or four of their videos to make sure that we know what we're doing for and against at set-plays.'

Billy's an avid viewer of DVDs and is said to spend hours trawling through them studying tactics, formations and set plays. So it's good to hear that he's putting his time off to good use and that it's actually paying off. It was a managerial masterstroke if it was all down to work done on the training ground.

It was a welcome victory for Forest and sees them climb up 2 places in the table to 13th. It's now 13 months since we tasted defeat in a league game at the City Ground, that's an incredible 25 games. Well done Billy and get well soon. Meanwhile, keep watching the DVD's and wrap up warm.

Sorry to be pedantic Guinless, but 13 months since we last tasted LEAGUE defeat.....that Blackpool playoff pasting is hard to erase from my memory. Good win & good record nonetheless!
