McGugan Saves The Day Once More

A point away from home should always be viewed as positive, especially when it comes in the midst of an away run of form that has seen us win only 1 in the last 21 games on our travels. Once again we had Lewis McGugan to thank for rescuing us, as he scored his 8th goal of the campaign with another wonder strike from 25 yards.

Forest went behind in the 3rd minute, when the entire defence went AWOL, leaving Jordan Mutch unmarked in the penalty area, with the simple task of heading home Danny Graham's cross. The goal did little to liven up a lifeless Forest, who seemingly failed to turn up for the first 15 minutes of the game.

When the Reds' did finally awake from their slumber, they came into the game and eventually found themselves creating a few chances. Blackstock and Earnshaw saw efforts go begging, before Lewis McGugan restored parity after 20 minutes.

McGugan bagged his 8th goal in 10 games and his 24th in 74 appearances for the club, with yet another wonder strike from 25 yards out. He's in such a rich vein of form at the moment and it's a good job because without him at present, you have to wonder where the goals are going to come from with hardly anyone else chipping in.

Both sides had chances to win the game in the 2nd half, but a draw sounded a fair result. Despite our dreadful away form, we still sit relatively well placed in mid table and only 4 points off the playoff places. It's Coventry at the City Ground on Tuesday night and our stats look alot better at home. We're unbeaten in over a year on our own patch, which is just as well because the visitors are in a decent run of their own at the minute and will arrive in confident mood, despite a 3-2 defeat at home to Leeds at the weekend.
