'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Garner Issued Warning By Town Boss

Forest striker Joe Garner joined League 1 side Huddersfield Town in July this year, in an effort to gain first team football and hopefully to force his way back into Billy Davies' plans at the City Ground. But, after 14 appearances for the Terriers, it appears that his time at the Galpharm has been less than impressive.

Town boss Lee Clark told the BBC, that time was running out for Garner, who joined them on a 6 month loan spell. He's yet to score for the club and Clark issued a warning to the 22 year old saying. 'Joe's a striker and when you are a striker you are judged on goals, and he hasn't scored one yet. For whatever reason it hasn't happened for Lee. He's at a massive stage in his career because he's dropped down a level and hasn't been able to force himself into my starting team.'

Garner was a popular figure amongst fans at the City Ground, with many believing he deserved a place in Billy Davies' squad. The warning from Clark will not bode well for him, if he returns to the Reds' with a less than glowing report. If he fails to impress during the remainder of his loan spell, it's a dead cert he wont figure here on his return.

Is this another example of Billy's acumen?
Our Kids Dad
I really rate Garner and was disappointed he went out on loan. He's probably not that happy about dropping down to L1 and he strikes me as the sort of player that actually needs "nurturing." I do think he could develop into a top class 2nd striker (in a drop off role, which I think is his best position). Hopefully Billy won't want to get rid..
