Davies Looks To The Wings To Achieve Goals
As the January transfer window approaches, amidst much hope and speculation from a Forest perspective, two former targets have emerged as possible signings in January.
Scunthorpe United winger/striker Martyn Woolford was rumoured to be a deadline day loan target for Billy Davies. The Daily Mail are today saying that we are ready to make a £400,000 offer for the 25 year old, who has scored 6 times for the Iron this season. A swap deal involving Joel Lynch was rumoured on deadline day, but in the end that came to nothing.
Another name resurfacing, is that of Norwegian wingback Jonathan Parr. We were said to be interested in him over the summer and according to the Norwegian press, he's currently over here on trial with us.
Both Woolford and Parr are left sided players and are most probably an indication of what Davies sees as one of the major problem areas within the current squad. Goals have been hard to come by this season and with a return of 21 in 19 games, he may see one or both of these players as a solution to providing the ammo for goals. Both Becchio at Leeds and Morison at Millwall have been recently linked as solutions to addressing those goalscoring problems.
