'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Davies Left Frustrated After Donny Draw

Forest manager Billy Davies was still talking positively about the clubs chances of promotion, following the 0-0 draw at home to Doncaster Rovers yesterday.

Davies told the official site. 'It was a very frustrating afternoon. We again dominated possession and chances but we need something to hit someone's backside and trickle into the bottom corner.'

The draw now means it's 7 games since Forest last registered a win, but despite the recent run of poor results, the Reds' still sit well placed in the Championship table in 6th position and just 3 points off 2nd spot.

Results once again went our way on Saturday, with Swansea losing to Derby and Leeds being held to a draw at home to Ipswich. Cardiff could end up putting a bit of a dampner on things today though, if they manage to get a win at home to Barnsley. They could go into 2nd and a point clear of Swansea.

Davies reminded fans that nothing was settled yet and once again said the season would hold a few more twists and turns. Next Saturday could prove to be one of the most crucial of the season so far, when the Reds' travel to 2nd placed Swansea. It's a bit early to be using the 'must win game' line, but with only 9 games left, it's getting pretty close.

I'm amazed we are still where we are after such a bad run, so I think Billy is calling it right when he says there will still be twists and turns right to the end. I didn't think Barnsley would get a draw at Cardiff but that's what happened. Norwich will be well placed if they win tonight so let's hope Brizzle can do us a favour.
