'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Groundsman Of The Year Award For NFFC

Congratulations go to NFFC head groundsman Ewan Hunter, who has today been awarded the Groundsman of the Year Award for the nPower Championship by the Football League.

It's a fitting tribute to Ewan and the other members of the City Ground ground staff, for consistently turning out a snooker table of a pitch week in week out.

Ewan told the
official site. 'I've gone on the record in the past saying that this season's pitch is the best we have had, especially when you consider the way it stood up to the rigours of a dreadful winter. And although it's my name that will be on the award, my staff are deserving of just as much recognition.'

It's worthy recognition for what most Forest fans take for granted, but when you consider that cloggers such as Sheffield United and Derby have played on it this year, it might come as a bit of a surprise. Well done to Ewan and his staff.
