'If It's Football, It's Vital'

calls from the fans for Beaumont

Colin wrote

'looks like a class act in the centre of midfield. Although only slight in stature he shone like a beacon in a sea of mediocraty. It's said that the hallmark of a good player is the ability to find space on the ball when those around them toil away. He certainly did that, often collecting the ball from our defenders and playing delightfull passes always to a Forest player. One lovely cameo of his ability was when with a drop of the shoulder and roll of his foot over the ball he sent the whole of the Rushden midfield in the opposite direction... His ' weight and direction ' of pass was exemplary, as was his awareness of the players around him. Now of course it could be argued that it was only a preseason friendly against non league opposition, but, my friends, class still shines through. Can he repeat this level of display in the hurly burly rough-house of league football??. Time will tell'

'It's good to hear, we've been waiting a long time for either Gardner or Beaumont to emerge. Gardner has the engine on him and gets stuck in, but he offers little else IMO. Hopefully Beaumont will get a run out against Stags on Saturday to prove his
worth to the team, if there's one thing we've needed for a while it's someone who can put their foot on the ball. Maybe him and Clingan in the centre of the park would be a good combination'

'Saw him on his debut for academy when him and Gardner had just signed....he looked superb, stunning passing, class apart from Gardner and i was stunned when he didnt step up before Gardner'

'Beaumont was a bit of an enigma. He shone when he was pushed into the youth side following his move from newcastle then he faded for a couple of years.

Kudos to Calderwood so far. His statement about giving people a chance is wonderful news, James seems to be in the middle of everything we do, Beaumont is playing well, Harris has scored and Lester has stuck a couple away. Let's see some of these squad players come in and make a real claim for a starting XI place now Megson has left'

i'd like to see who goes because all of these players that weren't here las season (out on loan) or out of favour seem to be doing alright and are finally getting a fair chance (most anyway) and beaumont, too i would like to see in the first team, with bastians..
