Names In The Frame For Coaching Roles

New Forest manager Steve McClaren has yet to officially announce his backroom staff, but there are two names rumoured to be high on his list.

McClaren may be about to make a very bold move, in appointing sports psychologist Bill Beswick to his coaching staff. Beswick first worked with McClaren in 1999, during his time at Manchester United and followed him to Middlesbrough, when he became manager there in 2001.

Whilst at Middlesbrough, McClaren appointed Beswick as his Assistant, where the pair spent 5 successful years together.

Another name in the frame for a place on the coaching staff is Paul Barron. He could be coming in as the new goalkeeping coach. Before hanging up his boots and moving into coaching, Barron had spells at Plymouth, Crystal Palace and WBA amongst others.

Barron spent 5 of his 6 years coaching at Middlesbrough under McClaren, before moving onto Newcastle in 2007. He left Newcastle in 2010, at the same time as Chris Hughton was shown the door.
