The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Maidenhead Red

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Maidenhead Red

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?

Followed forest since I can remember, but my first game was a 4-1 win against Bristol City in the FA cup 1991/92 season.

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.

Forest vs Sheff Utd 1993 is a strong memory - Cloughie's last league game and getting relegated - We should never have sold Teddy until we had a replacement!! 94/95 is full of great memories - Stan and Roy upfront in the Prem - A great season.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best starting eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?

GK - Big Norm

R - Laws

L - Pearce

D - Walker (1st time)

D - Cooper

L - Hodge (Often played centre but cold play left so I'm having him in my team)

R - Stone

C - Roy Keane

C - Lars Bohinen

T - Stan Collymore

T - Teddy Sherringham

Stan is my fave player of all time - didn't like the way he left, but he is the most talented player I have had the good fortune to watch - Shame he had issues and never fulfilled his potential.

Q - In your opinion, what is the best goal you have seen Forest score?

I always liked Lars Bohinen's chip to make it 4-1 away vs Spurs.

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?

Best - Old Trafford

Worst - I don't particularly like Loftus road - I know there are worst stadiums but it`s difficult to park, traffic in London is annoying and its location is strange.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer (realistically)?

I am most looking forward to us signing some unknown gems plucked from Europe using SM's knowledge and contacts.

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing or a bad thing?

My first season ticket was in the old Trent end, so bad thing. I wouldn't want to stand now but it`s a shame those that want to can't.

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?

I expected playoffs but thought we would end up in there 4th/5th comfortably, not scrambling at the end of the season to get in. What was more disappointing was that we didn't manage to hit the same level of football we had hit the previous year, I was always hoping for the WBA away moment.

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship/Where will we finish?

Really depends who we sign, but if we get in some quality and more depth 2nd spot is achievable, I expect a top 4 finish.

Q - Was it right for the club to sack Billy Davies?

Yes, his relationship with the board was in tatters and his ability to influence them non-existent.

Q - What's your opinion on the appointment of Steve McClaren and will he bring success to the club?

A great app't, despite the mickey taking he gets, he is respected - Nobody can guarantee success, but he has as good a chance as anybody.

Q- Acquisitions Panel. Good thing or bad?

If they work together with the manager a good thing - Guess we will never know exactly whether the AP were doing their job or not. During the last three transfer windows (1 summer, 2 Jan`s) we all blamed the AP, but there are plenty of stories of BD turning down decent players.

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?

Mainstand - C block near the dugouts.

Q - Name the celebrity whose back doors you'd most like to smash.

Between working, bringing up a baby and worrying about Forest not sure I have the time or energy to smash anyone's doors in.
