The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Mark Huskinson

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Mark Huskinson

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?

A - I've been following Forest for about 6 years now having not been into football before then but I can't remember what my 1st game was. I think my dad took me along just to see if he could get me into it and thankfully it worked.

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.

A - Best moments: Beating Man City 3-0 having arrived late a couple of minutes before our first goal, beating Yeovil to win promotion to the Championship and coming from behind to beat Portsmouth 2-1 last season in the space about 3 minutes.

Worst Moments: Losing to Yeovil, Blackpool and Swansea in different playoff campaigns, going all the way to Norwich down that long damn depressing road to watch us lose 2-1 and being beaten 1-0 by Derby two seasons ago then watching our seasons away form crumble.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best starting eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?

A - Having not been a Forest fan for very long this is a fairly modern team but hey.

K: Lee Camp

B: Chris Gunter

CB: Wes Morgan

CB: Luke Chambers

B: Ryan Bertrand

M: Paul Anderson

CM: Lewis McGugan

CM: Chris Cohen

M: Kris 'Judas' Commons (though it pains me to say it)

S: Robbie Earnshaw

S: Kris Boyd

Q - In your opinion, what is the best goal you have seen Forest score?

Hard to choose between these 4 but

: Nathan Tyson vs Man City

: Raddy Majewski volley vs West Brom

: Chris Cohen vs Blackpool in 2009/10 playoff semi

: Lewis McGugan free kick vs Ipswich

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?

A - Best will either be St James park (Newcastle) or Eastlands (Man city)

orst would be Ashton gate (Bristol City) due to the crap facilities, seating and its terrible pitch.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer (realistically)?

A - I'm pleased to hear we've signed Andy Reid back but I'd be delighted to hear we've either got Ryan Bertrand or Nicky Shorey (or someone of equal abilities) and sign up Kris Boyd Permanently. Also David Norris and Nicky Maynard would be good additions to the squad.

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?

A - The concept of the all seater stadium is good but I don't want one for Forest as they are all so similar it leaves you without a sense of having a unique ground for your club, illustrated by the fact that my first thought when shown a picture of the Ricoh Arena was ' I thought Man city's ground would be much bigger.'

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?

A -I said at the start of the season I would be happy with 6th or higher and that's what we got so no complaints other than the way we got there was a tad painful and nerve racking.

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship/Where will we finish?

A -Playoffs as a minimum, very disappointed for anything less and I'm expecting a title challenge from us but I would be happy with 4th or above and satisfied by 5th or 6th.

Q- Was it right for the club to sack Billy Davies?

A - At first I thought it was a terrible decision but as we were going to be getting Steve McClaren I feel it was the correct choice.

Q - What's your opinion on the appointment of Steve McClaren and will he bring success to the club?

A - I think he will be excellent for the club and I reckon he can certainly get us in the Prem and staying there.

Q- Acquisitions Panel. Good thing or bad?

A- Seen as how lots of clubs manage to get by with one apart from us I don't think it's a problem unless ours is particularly bad at what it does.

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?

A - Near the middle of the Main Stand to the left of where all the mega-rich people sit in their leather seats.

Many thanks to Mark, for taking the time out to answer the questions. If you would like to take part in the Fan Interviews, you`ll find a copy of the questions here. Just email your answers to forest@vitalfootball.co.uk and they will be published on the front page.
