'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Decision Time is Looming For Colin.

Colin Calderwood admits he faces some tough decisions in the coming weeks as he looks to cut the size of his Forest squad.

Speaking to the NEP, the Reds manager revealed he is struggling to reduce his 34-strong line-up after being impressed by a number of his players during the pre-season schedule.

Calderwood has assessed virtually his entire squad in Forest's four warm-up games, but admits he is still to decide who will be part of his plans at the City Ground.

He said: 'There is no one who you'd say you don't think will feature at all. There's been a lot of decent performances in games and training and obviously that increases the difficulty.

'The squad will get Nottingham Forest promotion - the 11 who start next Saturday and the following Saturday against Bradford, won't.'

Calderwood admits the performances of last season's outcasts Neil Harris, Gino Padula and Kevin James have forced him into a rethink over his squad-shaping plans.

'They've come back with a little bit to prove and a little bit of extra spice in terms of what they want to achieve at Forest,' he said. 'Everyone has given themselves the best opportunity of making an impression.'
