The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Lee

The Vital Forest Fan Interview: Lee

Q - How long have you been following Forest and what was your first game?
A - Born in 1974 and I've only ever supported Forest. My Dad was a fan and it was just the 'norm' in our house.

Q - What are your most memorable moments as a Forest fan? Good and Bad.
A - Brian Clough interviews. Particularly the one with Don Revie, (watch on youtube), that man was an absolute legend.

Q - Since you have been following Forest, what would your best starting eleven be? And who is your all time favourite player?
A - easy.
GK - Shilton
Def - Walker - Pearce - Chettle - Shorey
Mid - Keane - O'Neill - Roy - Cohen
CF - Collymore - Sheringham

Q - In your opinion, what is the best goal you have seen Forest score?
A - Can't remember the year but Jonny Metgod's free kick just outside the box against Manchester Utd. Absolute screamer!!!

Q - Best and worst away ground visited?
A - Best Old Trafford, Worst Brighton's.

Q- Which player(s) would you like to see us sign this summer (realistically)?
A - Zenden/Bothroyd/Carew all free transfers which should suit our transfer policy/budget.

Q - All seater stadia. Good thing, or a bad thing?
A - Good - safety and after Hillsborough Forest fans more then anybody should know that.

Q - What are your thoughts on how Forest did last season and how did it compare to your expectations?
A - Exceeded my expectation to be honest. Only wish we could have held on to that second spot when we had it. We beat some big clubs home and away, but then let easier points go by losing/drawing to inferior teams.

Q - What are your expectations for next season in the Championship/Where will we finish?
A - I can see another year in the play-offs unfortunately. The departure of so many players and the size of the squad will certainly make this year a lot harder unless we sign some quality players soon.

Q- Was it right for the club to sack Billy Davies?
A - Initially I was disappointed, Billy did a good job with the resource available. His tenure however was never going to be long term with such a poor relationship with the board. I often think what may have happened if Billy got the players he begged for in January but we'll never know now.

Q - What's your opinion on the appointment of Steve McClaren and will he bring success to the club?
A - It's a coup! McClaren is one of the best in my opinion and if the board back him he will definitely bring success to the club.

Q- Acquisitions Panel. Good thing or bad?
A - Bad thing! I understand the logic but why cant the manager just offer a name and price to the chairman. The chairman assesses and says yes or no? Why we need several people putting their two penneth in I don't know. I think it undermines the manager and shows a lack of confidence and respect.

Q - Where do you sit/stand at the City Ground?
A - Living in North Yorkshire I don't get there too often so it's the main stand, pay on the gate when I do.

Q - Name the celebrity whose back doors you'd most like to smash.
A - Ricky Gervais - Just don't get him. Not funny, over-rated, and thinks he's some kind of hollywood superstar.
