Chambers named Forest captain

Chambers named Forest captain

Steve McClaren has named Luke Chambers as the Forest captain this season.

Last seasons player of the year was made aware of the news by McClaren in training on Thursday and he, as he told the official website, feels that Chambers shows all the attributes he could want in a leader.

Other, more experienced players, could have been given the job but McClaren has little doubt the defender is the right option: 'I'm looking for someone who has got passion, attitude that epitomises what I like to see on the field and I think Luke does all of that.

'Yes, we've brought in senior players who could very easily have got the armband as well.

'But I just wanted to give it to someone who has a feeling for this club, who has experienced the two play-off defeats and has something to prove.'

Chambers might be the captain but the Forest manager has said that he wants 'leaders all over the field.'
