'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Confirming what was known

If nothing else Forests 0-0 draw with Barnsley at The City Ground confirmed, as he told the official website, that Steve McClaren is still short on numbers.

McClaren knows this, although he again reiterated that he also knows that he has until the end of the month to get this right - and is getting the full backing of the chairman: 'the 90 minutes just confirmed to us what we already knew - that we need to strengthen the squad before the end of the month.

'The Chairman is fully behind us. The backing is there but it is just about the process of getting players in. The good thing is that we still have time to do that.'

A striker, or at least a winger, is needed to help create that attacking spark and/or take the chances.

Again he highlighted this as something that was 'plain to see' that Forest 'needed more quality in the final third of the field.'

Knowing what is needed but getting this are not always the same thing, although with over 3-weeks left before the transfer window closes Forest really should be able to bring in a couple more bodies that McClaren wants...
