McClaren - We Showed Great Quality

Forest put in their best performance of the season to date, by beating League 1 Wycombe Wanderers last night 4-1 at Adams Park. The victory sees the Reds' safely through to the 3rd round draw, to be made this Saturday.

Unsurprisingly, Steve McClaren was full of praise for the team. 'We looked more of a threat than we have in any other game this season, we showed great quality. The attitude of all the players was good, they kept their discipline and their shape and it is important to take this into the rest of the campaign.'

One of the main criticisms of the team at this early stage of the season, has been the lack of goal scoring chances created, but the debut partnership of Ishmael Miller and Robbie Findlay, may prove to be an instant solution to that problem with both players bagging a goal each. Miller was replaced during the second half after taking a knock, but McClaren says he should be fine for the crunch game with the Hammers on Sunday.

McClaren was also delighted with young debutant Kieron Freeman. The 19 year old defender came on for the final 12 minutes of the game and McClaren said. 'Kieron played very well, showed good composure and we're delighted with him.'
