'If It's Football, It's Vital'

It's Transfer Deadline Day!

Transfer deadline day has proved to be a fruitless and frustrating time for Forest fans in recent years and although this one looks to be shaping up in similar fashion, there is hope that we may make a signing or two before the window slams shut at 11pm tonight.

Steve McClaren has warned the club that he needs at least 3 signings in before the 11pm deadline, if we are to mount a serious challenge for promotion this campaign. A failure to strengthen the squad in McClaren's opinion, will only lead to a season of struggle. On that basis, you'd hope that the board would listen to what he says and act on his recommendations.

The gaffer apparently has a few irons in the fire, with the rumour mill suggesting a loan deal for either Patrick van Aanholt or Ryan Bertrand at Chelsea. Stoke City centre half Danny Collins, is also rumoured to be a deadline day target for the Reds, but there are question marks over his desire to drop down a division.

I think it's going to be another day of frustration for us Trickies, but I hope against hope (as we all do), that the manager gets the backing, he needs to take the club forward. You never know, it might happen.

Vital Nottingham Forest is now available on both facebook and twitter, so if you are that way inclined and more importantly understand all this new fangled dangled stuff, feel free to watch us, poke us or whatever else you are meant to do there!

It's the 1st September and I am depressed !!! I really do like this manager - I think he has our best interests at heart but he will be gone or sacked coz the team will do rubbish as the board have shown no commitment to him/us/the team - they have no ambition - The manager will be a soft target when we start struggling because of the unfortunate baggage he carries & I think the board knew this when they hired him - if they dont invest and we play crap - they can blame the 'brolly factor' - if he does well on meagre resources - they can take all the credit for a great appointment - Either way the board wins - ITS TIME FOR THE FANS TO TURN ON THE BOARD NOT THE MANAGER
