More Left Back Rumours For Forest

More Left Back Rumours For Forest

The Evening Post reports that WBA left back Craig Dawson, is being targeted by Steve McClaren to fill the vacant left back spot at the City Ground.

Despite the fact that the 21 year old has only made 1 appearance for the Baggies since joining from Rochdale in 2010, he's highly rated and chips in with more than his fair share of goals for a defender.

Dawson is also an England U21 international. He's made 2 appearances for the U21's and scored a brace on his debut last week against Azerbaijan.

The transfer loan window opens on Thursday and as we all know by now the club is under pressure to deliver from manager Steve McClaren. Whether anyone arrives in time for the game away to Southampton on Saturday remains to be seen, but if Dawson was one that did, then we could certainly do alot worse. Chelsea left back Ryan Bertrand is also still in the frame. Bertrand spent 6 months on loan with the Reds' last season and has been linked with a return ever since.

Problem with anybody arriving immediately - they would leave again before the window reopens. The max loan is 93 days. So we'd need to loan someone on or after 1st October to be able to turn the deal permanent or renew to end of the season without sending them back. Lets not make the same mistakes we have in previous seasons!! It is even worse in the second emergency loan window - Anyone before Feb 25th misses the playoffs. (Remember Konchesky anyone?)
