Cotterill Appointment Edging Closer.....Allegedly

Portsmouth manager Steve Cotterill is nailed on to be the next manager of Nottingham Forest according to Sky Sports News, Nottingham Evening Post and The News of Portsmouth.

Depending on what source you go with, Cotterill has already agreed to join us, he's on his way to complete the deal, or the 2 clubs' have agreed he can make the switch to the City Ground, leaving just the personal details to arrange.

If the deal does manage to go through, Pompey fans will be the happier of the two sets of supporters, judging by the comments on the fans forums.

That should say stabilising obviously..

Steve did a great job stabiliding us through the scariest time in our clubs history, but many feel that he was only a couple of game away fromt her boot, and his extremely negative tactics were driving long standing fans away from watching their team. Good luck to the guy, although I'm not utterly convinced he'll bring glory to your once great club.

I see he gets a negative vibe from Pompey fans which I think is a bit strange given he did very well (in my opinion) in keeping you in the Championship in those circumstances. But then I haven't had the pleasure of watching his teams every week, so perhaps I'd better wait on passing judgement until I've seen how we play under him!
