Not losing sleep over Pompey banter

Steve Cotterill's first return to former club Portsmouth was an unhappy one because Forest were beaten and he also received some abuse, albeit banter most of the time, in the process.

"Taxi for Cotterill", "you're getting sacked in the morning" and "you should have stuck with Steve McClaren" were some of the chants directed towards Cotterill by the Portsmouth fans.

This was football banter, pure and simple though.

He was given a fairly good reception though and took that as the banter it was intended to be: 'I have no problem with it. I thought they were very nice really. I thought the Portsmouth fans were very nice and very welcoming.

'They wanted a wave in the first half and then they wanted their moment in the second half. I have no problem with that at all. There was no abuse.'

There was one moment when some words were exchanged with one fan behind his dugout however he soon played down the incident believing that he was one that probably abused him when he was the Pompey manager anyway: 'there was one bloke and he was like one of those Action Men. He was going on and on and was moaning about us not throwing a ball back.

'We kicked the ball back but Lewis ended up shanking it one instead of putting it back in the goalkeeper's hands.

'When someone is injured and the ball goes out of play, we kick it back into the keeper's arms. Lewis ended up shanking it one. It was a bit of a mishap and someone was shouting, although he was probably shouting at me when I was manager here.

'I'm not going to lose too much sleep about that. It was absolutely nothing when you think how many people were in here.'
