To Sell Or Not To Sell Lascelles?

The latest bright young thing to gain recognition at the NFFC Academy, is central defender Jamaal Lascelles.

According to reports in the Sunday People and Sunday Mirror, Premiership clubs Arsenal and Chelsea are set to do battle to land the talented 18 year old.

Lascelles is yet to make his first team debut with the Reds', but he has already represented England at U'18 and U'19 levels. Lascelles has a professional contract at the club, that should tie him to the City Ground until the end of 2013. The big question now facing the club, is whether to cash in and take the money now, or wait and watch his stock rise as he gets older and gains more experience.

Earlier this year, the Evening Post reported that Forest had rejected a bid of 5m (including add ons) from the Gunners. The reports in today's papers suggest that the Gunners are fighting it out with Chelsea for the players signature, with Arsene Wenger said to be preparing a 2m offer for the youngster, who only turned 18 this month.
