Todd supports Rogers

Colin Todd jumped to the defence of Bradford defender Alan Rogers, who was given some lengthy abuse from the stands on his first return to the City Ground, after being released by Forest in the summer.

Rogers was guilty of gesturing to Forest fans, after being the victim of sustained chants from the Main Stand for about 15 minutes.

And Todd said it was time people in the dugout were given more protection at grounds all over the country.

'People take a lot of abuse from people in the stands, but as soon as you say anything back, stewards come down and tell you that you can't do that,' said the Bradford boss.

'But why don't the police do something about the people in the stands, you know?

'It is always us who are the guilty ones, which does not seem right.

'Alan Rogers might have gestured back and somebody must have complained.

'But I am complaining about supporters, because some nasty language was used.

'I will not be the first one to complain about dugouts not getting protection, I was complaining about it last season.

'I have had to get the police involved before, at Oldham in the past. It is not just something that has happened here. It happens all the time. You take abuse all the time, but as soon as you react in any way, it is you that gets in trouble.'
