'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cotterill Will Not Give In

Forest boss Steve Cotterill says his side created enough chances to win 2 games of football in the 1-0 defeat at home to Crystal Palace yesterday and that they wont give in, despite now sitting 3rd from bottom in the Championship table.

It's now 4 defeats on the bounce for the Reds', who sit joint 3rd from bottom in the table with Bristol City on 20 points. Despite the poor run of results and position in the table, Steve Cotterll says the lads wont give in.

Cotterill told the official site. 'We've created enough chances today to win two games, for sure. We were the better team by a long chalk - I can only remember three real efforts that Palace had on our goal. There's huge disappointment but we need to try and address that final third.'

This was the second successive game in which the Reds' have dominated the match, but failed to capitalise on the chances created. It was exactly the same scenario at Brighton last week, where once again we went down to a solitary goal after being the better team.

Cotterill was adamant that the lads would fight on and continue to work hard. 'We just need to keep it going. There's no other way. If you give in that's the end of it … we can't do that.'

Next Saturday, Forest travel to fellow relegation strugglers Bristol City. To say we need a win is an understatement, but another defeat will not only cast us adrift of the teams above, it will also be the worst possible preparation for the gruelling festive schedule just round the corner.
