'If It's Football, It's Vital'

More Defensive Woes For Reds'

Following hot on the heels of confirmation of Wes Morgan's 6-8 week lay off, due to ankle ligament damage, Joel Lynch is also reportedly injured again with further problems to his groin injury.

Morgan went off injured early in the 1-0 defeat to Palace just over a week ago and was replaced on Saturday by Joel Lynch, who was himself not 100% fit following groin problems. He was substituted after 22 minutes at Bristol on Saturday, after aggravating the same injury again.

Lynch's injury is proving to be something of a mystery for the Forest Physios. Steve Cotterill told the official site. 'The only thing is we're struggling to find what is wrong there, what is going on. He obviously has a problem but we've had everything scanned and there's not a lot more we can do with that. The physios are carrying on with their work and having a look at it.'

Brendan Moloney who replaced Lynch on Saturday, was himself carrying a knock he picked up in a reserve game a fortnight ago. The defence is so threadbare at present, that Cotterill may have little choice in the coming weeks but to throw in the kids.

Throw in the towel more like - the whole situation is a joke, was totally predictable & more importantly avoidable if we had made a left back a priority signing (oh I remember thats what they did say wasn't it?) & shored up the rest of the defence instead of bringing back old players & has beens. There will be no good news coming out of the club until it is sold & we are not even very good at that at the moment are we Nigel? Oh sorry Frank................
