O'Driscoll Appointed As First Team Coach

Steve Cotterill has made his first appointment as manager of Forest, by naming former Doncaster Rovers and Bournemouth manager Sean O'Driscoll as first team coach.

There's no mention on the official site about what will happen to Cotterill's current number 2 Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, but O'Driscoll will definitely be taking over his role.

O'Driscoll was sacked as manager of fellow Championship strugglers Doncaster back in September and has been given a short term deal with the Reds' until the end of this season.

Whilst manager of Donny he did have a reputation for playing attractive football and is used to working within tight financial constraints. Whether he will have enough about him to galvanise our curret squad remains to be seen, but there's no doubt that Steve Cotterill can not do the job on his own.

Many supporters had O'Driscoll on the list of potential new managers prior to Cotterill's appointment, but I have to admit that he wasn't on mine. He's a nice bloke and should help make the dire displays on show from the team at present a little easier on the eye, but does he have what it takes to shake up our shambolic squad and ready them for the relegation battle ahead? Time will tell on that one and I wish him the best of luck. Welcome to the City Ground Sean O'Driscoll.
