The NFFC Sunday Transfer Rumours and Gossip Update

With only 3 days remaining for Nottingham Forest to do business before the January transfer window closes, there's little in the way of gossip or rumour to suggest any new signings will be arriving before the deadline on Tuesday night.

It was hoped that Stoke City defender Danny Collins would be coming in on loan until the end of the season, but he now looks likely to be joining promotion hopefuls Southampton instead. Collins would have been the ideal replacement for Wes Morgan, who still remains a Forest player, despite three determined bids for his signature from Leicester City.

The Daily Star are running 2 cheeky stories today concerning possible Forest transfer news, with Lewis McGugan apparently being wanted by Birmingham. It's a deal that appears highly unlikely, as the paper says they only want him on loan. The second piece in the same paper, says that no less than 3 Premiership clubs are fighting to sign youngster Patrick Bamford. The 18 year old has only made two substitute appearances for the Reds' so far, but thanks to his 9 goals in 2 games for the reserves, he has stirred up interest from Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs.

Whilst there's little to report in the way of new arrivals on Trentside, the rumourmill has at least spewed up one enticing (if not entirely believable) titbit, with news that Luke Chambers is on his way Burnley for 1.2m. If Carlsberg did rumours eh?
