'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Cotterill Pleased With Improved Performance

Not for the first time this season, Steve Cotterill had to watch his side squander a hatful of chances, in a game the Reds'should have won handsomely. A 19th minute strike from Garath McCleary was cancelled out just before the break, after Troy Deeney levelled for the visitors.

Cotterill said in his post match interview on the official site. 'We played really well, created an abundance of chances, didn't take them and are left feeling slightly disappointed. But we've got 17 matches left and if we give the same kind of performance at Middlesbrough on Tuesday night I will be very pleased. Having said that, we have not been as bad as our results might indicate. A lot of the games we have lost have been similar to todays but we can take some positives from this.'

Chris Gunter was guilty of missing no less than four separate chances to win the game for us and substitute Robbie Findley was guilty of missing a golden chance in the latter stages, as he once again proved he has the touch of an elephant when it comes to controlling the ball.

With only 17 games remaining, time is running out and without stating the obvious, we really do have to start turning things round now. It's another massive week ahead, with a trip to Middlesbrough on Tuesday night, followed by a must win game at the City Ground against Coventry on Saturday.
