Academy Players at Forest

With all the talk of first team football the new Academy season starts this Saturday as the Under 18's are at Home to Reading with a 12:30 kick-off time.

I felt I would have a look at which players are currently in the Nottingham Forest Academy Squad for the 2006/2007 season.

The Squad currently has 19 players listed but a surprising factor is that 11 of those 19 are from Nottingham something which the club was looking to improve on going back to the Paul Hart days.

The Academy has some new signings this season in the form of Hamza Bencherif an central defender much in a similar build of Vincent Fernandez, Corie Treacy a right back from the Republic Of Ireland and 1st year YTF in James Reid a left back/ left Midfield who used to play for Derby, Ryan Whitehurst a Striker, Liam Hook a Central Midfielder and Aaron Mitchell another Central Defender.

The most familiar faces at the Academy to most fans will be Third choice Goalkeeper Paddy Gamble, German Felix Bastians, Right Back James Cullingworth and Midfielder Alan Power.

The Squad is as follows:

Under 19's
