Cotterill Annoyed At Failure To Lure Varney

The Daily Express is today reporting that Forest boss Steve Cotterill is fuming over the failure to bring in Portsmouth striker Luke Varney on loan until the end of the season.

Cotterill signed the former Derby, Blackpool and Crewe striker earlier this season, whilst manager of strugggling Pompey and is clearly a big admirer of the 29 year old, despite the fact he couldn't get in the Derby side last season and that he's only scored 5 goals in 21 appearances this term.

Since news broke that Varney was a target over the weekend, most Forest fans were to put it politely less than overjoyed at news of his possible arrival. Cotterill on the other hand sounded very frustrated with how things have turned out, saying. "It is a bit disappointing that it took a week to get an answer. At this moment, he is staying at Portsmouth."
