Forest To Appeal McCleary Red Card

Nottingham Forest have confirmed that they will appeal the red card issued to Garath McCleary, during the 1-0 victory at Peterborough on Monday.

McCleary was issued with a straight red following a challenge on Peterborough's Grant McCann, with 20 minutes of the game remaining.

Forest boss Steve Cotterill told the BBC, that he was confident of getting the decision overturned. 'I would be amazed if it's not rescinded.'

If the sending off decision is upheld, McCleary would be missing from action for the next 3 games and would not be available for selection again until the final game of the season against Portsmouth at home. McCleary is currently the clubs' top scorer with 9 goals and has been instrumental in the recent upturn in results.
